An affiliate link is a link from Badass.bet to a gambling operator that carries a tracking parameter identifying us as the referrer. When a reader clicks that link, signs up, and (depending on the operator) deposits and plays, we may earn a commission from the operator or from the operator's affiliate network. That commission is how the site is funded. There is no paywall, no sponsorship of individual articles, and no requirement that a reader ever click a link.

Every score on this site is calculated from the formula published on how we rate. The formula weights seven categories and applies a flat 1.0 penalty across every category when an operator has documented evidence of limit-hunting or stalling withdrawals. The formula is applied the same way to every operator, whether commission-paying or not. We do not accept payment for a higher score. We do not accept payment for a specific ranking position. If an operator asks us to change a score, our answer is on this page: no.
Some operators pay for featured placement in specific positions on the site, such as a homepage strip, a category-page banner, or a highlighted card in a hub. When that happens, it is disclosed next to the placement with a visible "Featured" or "Sponsored" label, in line with US FTC and UK CAP Code guidance. Featured placement affects visibility, not the score attached to the operator. A featured operator is not moved up the ranked list. A featured operator does not have negative findings hidden.
Authors are salaried or contracted at a flat rate. They are not paid a bonus based on the sentiment of a review or the volume of sign-ups a review generates. Every review is fact-checked by a second author before publication, per our fact-checking process. Reviews that criticise commission-paying operators are common and are on the site now. When an operator asks us to remove or soften a negative finding, we say no on the record and, if the operator pushes further, we publish a note about the exchange. Commission is paid on a "cost per acquisition" basis (a one-off fee per new depositing customer), a "revenue share" basis (a percentage of the operator's net gaming revenue from a referred customer, ongoing), or a hybrid of the two. The exact structure varies by operator and is not disclosed to us until we join a programme. In no case does the size of a commission influence editorial scoring. Where a commission structure would create a plausible perception of conflict, for example an unusually high revenue share on an operator that scores well on our formula, we call it out inside the relevant review.
